Last month, we have organised a few workshops for the sheet metal industry, sharing our knowledge in tooling design.
Tooling is one of the key manufacturing processes. By managing the tooling process well, one will be able to improve the product time-to-market and reduce the scrap rate as well as production cost. In the 3-hour session, we talked about the part analysis and unfolding process, with a focus on the integration of blank development with tooling design.
By attending this workshop, the participants have had the opportunity to experience the fast and accurate blank shape generation through a hands-on session. They were encouraged to bring along the CAD files they were working on, so that they would have a better understanding on how to unfold the formed part in just a minute, and bring the blank size of their part back.
