AIO Drafting Solutions You Need to Know

AIO term has been circling quite around the world, especially the computer hardware. When you see a monitor labelled with AIO, you will expect to see a complete computer hardware with monitor. The AIO in here is referring to All-In-One, which means all features are included within a specific system or hardware.

There was a time when AIO desktop is considered as a computer trend

If you followed our blog closely, we’ve been talking about Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing and cloud solutions over the years. Now the server PC system also comes with AIO function. It not only allows you to store your file in a local or cloud server, but you can easily manage and preview your files without having the files in your current computer at the same time. With the new high-speed and high-performance server hardware, a lot of smart system has been included. It not only synchronises the files between server and web app system, approval system and task management, but the corporate internal group intranet are also included. These are what we call as a complete AIO solution in cloud server.

Previously, we mentioned that we can use existing premises or legacy software, such as SOLIDWORKS & DraftSight to manage and preview our files with added 3DEXPERIENCE BI & LI solutions. However, do you know that now DraftSight also comes with AIO package – where you can directly install DraftSight from 3DEXPERIENCE platform, no activation step needed once you login to your 3DEXPERIENCE account? This is what we are going to talk about today – AIO DraftSight from Dassault Systemes.

Legacy premises software required you to lock or bind serial to a specific hardware

DraftSight comes with CLOUD AIO edition that works the same as the premise version.

As far as we know, when we encounter any cloud solution or cloud base application, instead of using serial key for activation, these platforms started to implement with email registration to obtain a unique login access restricted with that end user.

So does the 3DEXPERIENCE cloud platform. Normally, when a company implements a server PC, additional software is required to protect the data from external source or external hacker which is not cheap. Sometimes, rival companies’ mole can easily login to the server to sabotage your files in your server. Unique login access does not only provide a more secure method to access the platform, but also provides double security measure to prevent your data being hacked or stolen. Only the end user himself knows the access, unless he shared out his access login with others which we don’t quite agree with this sharing method. It totally compromises the security measured provided from Dassault Systemes.

Deployment cost is consider as a hidden cost when implementing these solutions either on your workstation or server computer. To reduce these hidden deployment cost, Dassault Systemes comes out with an idea. What if all the application can be obtained from the platform? What if the execution steps are so easy that anyone can deploy them without any IT technician services needed? This is how Dassault Systemes step up the cloud game. As long as you have bought the necessities, you can directly download all the roles and software from the platform without serial number or special email to verify the installation. Only you can perform this if and only if you login to your 3DEXPERIENCE account. Any personnel who does not get these roles or 3DEXPERIENCE access will not be able to download it, which totally remove the risk of crack issue for this software.

As aforementioned, DraftSight come with an AIO package. You can directly install the DraftSight Enterprise Plus package directly from 3DEXPERIENCE platform under the Drafter Roles, where the 3DEXPERIENCE role will be downloaded together, allowing user to directly deploy both applications. Each time you run the application, you may need to have internet and login credentials to gain the access of the software and the common space synchronise features from 3DEXEPERIENCE compass.

Each time you open up the software, login is needed to get the license information from your 3DEXPERIENCE cloud account.

Directly open the DWG drawing files with your DraftSight

Once you update the file to cloud, 3DEXPERIENCE will show the update status of your files
